Relax, Stretch & Breathe

Breathe your way to a better birth. Your local NCT region is offering Relax, Stretch & Breathe classes in central Banbury. These are open to women in any stage of pregnancy, and appropriate whether it's your first pregnancy or your tenth! These weekly classes for women use gentle yoga based exercises and stretches to prepare women for their birth. The classes focus on breathing techniques, positions for labour and relaxations. The aim is for you to have an enjoyable and relaxing time, whilst Improving your physical and emotional wellbeing, and increasing your chances of a positive birth experience.
The yoga-based postures are very gentle, specifically designed so as you can attend throughout your pregnancy.
For first time mothers, there will be lots of practical tips, opportunity to meet others and ask questions. The classes are run in an Active Birth format, with different topics covered each week.
For those who are already mothers, the class is a time to relax, concentrate on the new baby, and think about your wishes for this birth.
Breathing, exercise, relaxation and positions for labour are paramount, but classes also cover breastfeeding, optimal foetal positioning, avoiding perineal damage and many others. Benefits of these classes include
