Postnatal Support
Valley Cushion Hire
For relief of discomfort after birth the Valley Cushion is available to hire from Alison 0117 966 4148 (Southville) or Peta 0117 968 1370 (Stoke Bishop) or contact them on bristolagents@nct.org.uk. It costs £15 to hire for a 5 day period and £2 a day therefafter and can be extremely effective in overcoming the pain due to stitches or other perineal trauma (tearing and stitches). Please note a deposit of £25 is required.

At the moment Babycino is for clients who have attended NCT antenatal classes. For those who have older babies or just want to meet local friends, please look at the NCT Café.
NCT Cafe
The team would like to set up a series of local coffee mornings in cafes to promote local friendship. Do you know of a venue that might be suitable? Would you be willing to start it up with the support of an antenatal student teacher? If so, please contact the Chairs on bristolchair@nct.org.uk For venues and timings go to events.
Caesarean Group
All welcome, especially mums who have had or are booked to have a caesarean section. A caesarean birth, like any other, can create diverse emotions from relief and celebration to disappointment and confusion. For those who have been told they need to have a caesarean birth, the mixed messages in the press and urban myth might leave mums to be feeling apprehensive about what is to come. This NCT Cafe is an opportunity to meet other mums who are in a similar position, talk freely, ask (and offer) advice and share tips. For dates see events
