Canterbury and District NCT runs a network of coffee groups serving different parts of the branch area, that meet regularly to support parents with babies or young children. These meet in parents' houses, usually on a rota basis, and all parents with under 5s are welcome.
Our coffee groups are open to members and non members, regardless of how you give birth, or how you choose to feed your baby. You are welcome to come along and meet people while you still have a bump, or with your newborn, right up to pre-school age, which is handy if you have more than one child. It’s a great opportunity to chat to others about their experiences of parenthood and make new friends.
If you would like to have a group in your area and want to help us get one started, do get in touch: Canterbury@nct.org.uk

Bumps & Babies
We don't currently have a specific Bumps & Babies group running in Whitstable. New parents or expectant parents are very welcome to come to the Open House on Thursday mornings, or if you have had your baby, the Children's Centre in Joy Lane runs a group specifically for parents with young babies on Tuesday morning. Contact the Children's Centre direct for more information: 01227 263998, email@example.com. Their website can be found here.
Thursday: Open House - 10am-12noon
Every Thursday morning mums and dads with children of all ages meet at someone's house for a cup of tea and a chat. This is a very nice, small group where the parents have a chance to become friends as well.

Networking group for Work At Home Parents.
Informal networking group, focusing on offering each other support, knowledge sharing, and motivation. This is not a traditional networking group that is sales-oriented.
This networking group is designed for freelance, self-employed and work-at-home parents, who would like to meet others in a similar situation. As parents it can be hard to get to networking events, which are often at breakfast time (a hectic time in a household with children) or in the evening. As the local NCT branch we have set up this network to accommodate the growing numbers of parents in the Canterbury area who are seeking a better work-life balance for themselves and their family by working from home. Businesses of all industries are welcome to attend, whether you own a franchise, produce a craft product or run a retail, hospitality, leisure or food business. There are no exclusions and people from a range of business backgrounds are welcome, whether just starting out in business or well established.
The group organises formal and informal events. The "formal" events are business focussed and this works better without children present. To accommodate people with childcare issues, the network also hosts more informal, child-friendly meetings once a month. If you would like to know more about the networking group, can contact Ashleigh Lawrence on: email@example.com to join the Facebook group. Please mention your name, business name and where possible a link to your business website or Facebook page.
This group, like all NCT events, is open to members and non-members.
