Homebirth

We have a Homebirth Support Group, which provides information and support if you are considering having your baby at home.

You can meet other parents who are considering the same or who have successfully had a baby at home.

See our Events page for further information or contact Pippa Brook on 020 8777 7438.

Why have your baby at home?

Privacy, peace, personal space, people... “I had our first child at home and wouldn't swap the experience for the world. I was able to eat and drink what I liked, wear what I wanted, phone who I liked when I wanted to, called the midwife when I wanted to, had my husband with me all the time, walked about, got in and out of a birthing pool when I wanted to - the list goes on."

If you're a woman who knows what she wants, is confident in your body's ability to give birth in a non-stressed atmosphere, and wants the freedom to just be in labour without the fear of being 'speeded up', because you're not progressing as fast as the text books say you should, then think about a home birth.

Research has shown that home birth is as safe as hospital birth for healthy women having a straightforward pregnancy.
