Nearly New Sales
FOR SELLER PACK GO TO - EVENTS then NEARLY NEW SALE then RELATED DOCUMENTS
We currently hold Spring and Autumn Nearly New Sales in Durham City. The sales are a great way for parents to either buy baby and young child related items, or sell them with a percentage of the cost going to the NCT charity.
What is for sale? – Anything and everything you might need from pregnancy to young child age at bargain prices. Exact details obviously depend on what the sellers want to sell at each sale, however, it normally includes:
- Maternity clothing and equipment
- Baby and young children’s clothing and shoes
- Baby equipment such as bedding, pottys, baths, reusable nappies and much more
- Larger items such as prams, cots, moses baskets, travel cots, stairgates and highchairs
- Toys, bikes, baby gyms & activity centres, books, dvds, dressing up clothes, outdoor play equipment
How can I buy? – Entry is £1 donation to the NCT charity. You will be given a large shopping bag to use during the sale which is handed back at the tills. The first 15 minutes of each sale are for NCT members only. Becoming a member is a good way to get your hands on the bargains first and the cost of membership can often be more than covered by the huge savings you can make on items bought at the sale.
How does my purchase benefit the NCT charity? – Up to 30% of the cost of every item bought is retained by the NCT. This money is used to support both the NCT nationally as well as staying in the branch to help local parents.
How can I sell? – You do not need to be a NCT member to sell at our sales. Registration to become a seller usually starts around 4-6 weeks before each sale. Exact details will be posted here nearer the time. Durham NCT organise commission based sales where either 25 or 30% is taken off the cost of each item you sell depending on whether you volunteer to help at the sale. Sellers drop off items before the sale and return at the end to collect any unsold goods.
Can I volunteer to help at the sales? – Anyone can volunteer to help out at the sales. You do not need to be a member. We are always looking for more helpers so please get in touch.
How can I find out more? – email Helen Rodgers (Nearly New Sale Co-ordinator) durhamnns@yahoo.co.uk
