Our next sale is on Sunday 22nd April 2012, 11.00-12.30, at Crestwood College, Shakespeare Road (Off Woodside Avenue), Eastleigh, SO50 4FZ.

Our biggest fundraisers for the branch are the Nearly New Sales, run every year in Spring and Autumn. They provide a great opportunity to buy and sell good quality second-hand clothes, toys, maternity wear, high chairs, travel cots, stair gates and all manner of other equipment. Whilst some effort is involved in selling, as you have to label all your items for sale and drop them off at the sale, in return you will receive a cheque for 70% of the selling price for everything you have sold. You can also pat yourself on the back for not only being good to the environment (this is recycling at its most efficient!) but also for supporting NCT who receive the remaining 30% of the selling price.

Buying at the Sale

Please note that a charge of £1 per adult is made for entering the sale. Members have a separate queue and are allowed in before everyone else.

Selling at the Sale

In order to sell at our Nearly New Sale, you first need to register with us by sending us your contact details (postal address including postcode, phone number and email address) and we will add you to our waiting list. Please email us at the following address: nnseastleighnct@yahoo.co.uk. Nearer the time we will look at the waiting list and allocate seller numbers. Sellers who have been allocated a number will be sent detailed instructions on what to do and what you can and cannot sell, limits for each item type, pricing guidelines, as well as a pack of labels to label up your items. You can sell baby/children's clothes, maternity clothes, toys, books and baby/toddler equipment. You cannot sell electrical equipment, car seats, bike helmets or mattresses for health and safety reasons. You will need to bring your items to the sale first thing in the morning (approx. 9.30am) and collect them at the end of the sale (approx. 1.30pm). The NCT take 30% commission on all sales. You will also be charged £1.50 for the seller's pack to cover the cost of the labels and postage. You do not need to be a member of the NCT to sell at our sales.

Volunteer on the day

We are always looking for volunteers to help at the sale and volunteers get an opportunity to 'shop' a short time before the doors are opened. Volunteers need to be at the sale from approximately 8.30am - 1.30pm on the day to help put out the items and clear them away after the sale. You can also volunteer on 'set-up' day, the day before the sale. You do not have to be a NCT member to volunteer.
