Members and Volunteers, parents and expectant parents just like you, run our branch.

You don’t need to take on huge tasks, just commit whatever time you can and put your previous experience and skills to great use. It is a great way to learn new skills, make new friends, and represent the NCT.

We urgently need volunteers to fill the following posts:

Write for our Newsletter

The NCT Gloucester & District Branch produces a newsletter “Changing Times” three times a year. We need your help to make the newsletter even more interesting and helpful for parents.

We are currently looking for volunteers to write short or long articles for our branch newsletter on a one-off or regular basis. The articles could be about: 

  • Pregnancy
  • Birth
  • Baby feeding
  • Parenting
  • Recipes
  • Children’s book reviews
  • Parenting book reviews
  • Crafts, Sports other activities
  • Anything to do with pregnancy, birth, parenting

Studying with the NCT

If you are interested in training with the NCT, please go to our Training page for more information. 

You could train with us to become:

  • An Antenatal Teacher – Diploma of Higher Education Antenatal Education validated by the University of Bedfordshire
  • A Breastfeeding Counsellor – Diploma of Higher Education Breastfeeding Counselling validated by the University of Bedfordshire
  • A Postnatal Leader – Diploma of Higher Education Postnatal Group Facilitation validated by the University of Bedfordshire
  • An NCT Birth Companion – Certificate validated by the University of Worcester (for those who have not worked with NCT before a short ‘orientation’ programme is offered to introduce some of the key skills and knowledge to enable students to apply for this course)
  • An NCT Relax Stretch & Breathe/Yoga for Pregnancy teacher – Certificate in Applied Health Sciences: Teaching NCT RSB/YfP validated by Worcester University (only offered to qualified NCT antenatal teachers and to students nearing the end of their training with their tutor’s approval).
