Volunteers, parents and expectant parents just like you, run our branch. You don’t need to take on huge tasks, just commit whatever time you can or your previous experience and skills. It is a great way to keep your hand in, learn new skills, make new friends, and represent the NCT. Please get in touch and get involved - we'd love to hear from you.

• Bumps & Babes co-ordinator for Berkhamsted
• Bumps & Babes co-ordinator for Hemel Hempstead
  >>  Attend Bumps and Babes session to welcome new mums
• Membership secretary – supporting role
  

  >>  Our current coordinator would really appreciate some help, so this will be a job-share. The branch requires some additional support for membership secretary. This may involve responding to emails, calling membership, labels for BabyFace, emailing members about events, etc.

• Educational talks – can be a job share
  >> This involves organising talks on a wide variety of subjects from First Aid and Potty Training to Weaning and Dealing with Tantrums. We’d like to put on more of these talks which usually take place in one of the local Children’s Centres. This role involves finding an appropriate person to give the talk, for example a Health Visitor, organising the venue  and liaising with our Publicity Officer and Magazine Editor to advertise the event.
• Baby Face Distribution Coordinator
  >> This involves liaising with the BabyFace Editor, Advertising Coordinator and Membership Secretary to put BabyFace in envelopes and mailing out to our members.
• Nearly New Sales (NNS) Coordinator - Can be done as a job-share
  >> We need someone to orgabise the sellers and volunteers for the day of our biggest fundraising event (Next Sale: Saturday 28 April 2012).  This involves checking the email address at regular intervals; registering sellers and sending out their information packs and labels; taking registration cheques to the treasurer for banking. It will also involve answering queries after the sale. This can be done as a job share.
• NCT Bra Agent - Training available for this role
  >> Offer to mums-to-be and new mums a bra fitting service and sales of NCT maternity and breastfeeding bras.

• Grant Fundraising Coordinator
  >> Work with the Branch Coordinator, Treasurer and Fundraising Coordinator to plan branch fundraising, in particular identifying suitable projects for grant funding applications.
  >> Liaise with the full branch team to take full advantage of grant funding opportunities, keeping relevant stakeholders informed of progress.
  >> Act as a point of contact for branch volunteers interested in applying for a grant, encouraging and supporting them in writing their own applications where suitable.
  >> Use the NCT's Update Online, the internet and local services where available to research potential funders for projects
  >> Write applications to appropriate funding bodies and assit other volunteers in their applications.
  >> Monitor successful applications and ensure reporting requirements are met, thereby maintaining positive relationships with funders

• Social Team
  >> This has several aspects to it so you can get imnvolved for one or more events we currently provide or you could run any other social/fundraising event that you would like to see.  Our current events are:
  >> Our current events are Cheeky Monkey Tea Party Coordinator, Pamper Evening Coordinator, Arts & Craft Coordinator, Christmas Party Coordinator
  >> Can you spare 3-4 hours on a few occasions throught the year to help set up and run a fundraising events? Ideally you would join up with one or two other people and organise an event together.
  >> The roles involve organising a raffle, some stall holders, activities, venue and liaising with other members of the committee e.g. Magazine Editor, Publicity Officer to get the word out and make the event successful.>>Think we could be doing some other events – bring your ideas and creativity!

• Delivering copies of Baby Face
  >> In order to keep our costs down, we are looking for volunteers to help hand deliver copies of Baby Face. Even if you can just deliver a few copies, or distribute copies to your NCT group, it will save us so much money in postage. If you are interesting in helping out, please email babyfacehhb@yahoo.co.uk with details of your area you will be able to deliver to.
