The position of Advertising Coordinator has been filled but now we have a new vacancy - Fundraiser! We currently have a couple of regular events - the Christmas Party, the Halloween Party, Sports Day and the Easter Egg hunt - but new ideas are always welcome as a way to make money for the branch which we can then channel back in to helping mums and dads on the Island. The out-going fundraiser will still be involved in the committee so is around to pass on their knowledge and the whole committee will be around to help. Are you looking for a new way to get involved in helping out? How about using those skills you honed before baby came, or getting new skills on you CV? Our commitee is small and friendly and we have a couple of vacancies:

Nearly New Sale Organiser - Liz has done a fantastic job at organising our sales for the last 2 years but has decided to step aside after the October one. Nearly New Sales are our biggest fundraiser for the branch and if you would like to take on this role Liz is hoping someone will shadow her for the October sale before taking over the reins for the following sale in April 2013. You won't be left to run things on your own however - the rest of the committee will be there to help and support you! Advertising Coordinator - our Small Talk magazine relies on advertising in order to be successful. With an existing database of local companies the person taking on this role would need to contact them, and any potential new advertisers, to encourage them to appear in our magazine. Our popular Bumps and Babies group is now back up and running! An informal coffee group run by volunteer mums, which welcomes all expectant or new parents with babies up to a year old. At Bumps and Babies you can share your experiences with those going through exactly the same thing plus it’s a great place to make friends with children the same age as yours. The group is open to members and non-members of the NCT and will be held at The Church on the Roundabout in Newport evert Tuesday 9.30-11.30am. For more information call Kim on 07432 140321. Fee and Amy, our wonderful Branch Co-ordinators for the last 2 years stood down at the AAM and have handed the reins to Kim Ellis who has got lots planned for our branch over the next 12 months! The NCT now has one Helpline number: 0300 330 0700. Call for advice from trained professionals on breastfeeding, pregnancy and birth, postnatal issues and to speak to someone about a shared experience!
