Leeds Museum Cafe at Millennium Square from 2-4:00 p.m.

Please come along if you want to make new friends and go out and about with your child, there is a space set aside for the group so the kids can play around as dads get to catch up!

Annual Members Meeting

Our last Annual Members Meeting was held on November 24th, 2011. Our guest speaker was 
Francesca Meynell from Beechtree Steiner Initiative who talked about

 'A simple approach to parenting and the early years.'

The Big Push

On Saturday the 14th May, more than 20 families met at the beautiful Golden Acre Park just outside Leeds for the Big Push, a sponsored pram push to raise money for the NCT which took place at 20 locations around the UK this Spring and Summer.

The main aim for the money raised is to combat isolation in new parents by funding support workers for women in the first six weeks of their babies lives. The Leeds Big Push was a huge success! The turnout was fabulous and in total we raised more than £800, so a big thank you to everyone who took part.

The money raised came not only from sponsorship, but also from the sale of delicious cakes baked by members of Pudsey and Horsforth Bumps, Babies and Beyond. Thank you so much to Debora Marschner for organising this. At the event we had a tea and coffee van and Ruth Goodwin’s Forever Living stall, which displayed natural health and beauty products.

Every participant of the Big Push received a goody bag put together by Anna Hawksley (thank you Anna!). We would also like to extend our thanks to the following companies who donated items to go in the goody bags:

• Armadillo toys, providing quality toys for children of all ages;
• The Wow Wall, specialists in interior wall murals, canvas prints and wall stickers;
• The Creation Station, providing art and craft classes for toddlers.

Roundhay Live

We had an NCT stall at the Roundhay Live event on Saturday 18th June where we sold cakes and had things for kids to decorate them with, as well as crumbles for people to take home and enjoy. As well as meeting lots of local parents, giving out information and promoting our upcoming events and Bumps and Babies groups, we raised nearly £200! A great result for an afternoon's work; hopefully this will be a regular fixture in the NCT Leeds calendar.

Many thanks to all who took part on the day as well as those from the Roundhay and Oakwood BB&B groups who helped to organise things, provide equipment and baked yummy things in advance.
