NCT Leicester Coffee Groups

Coffee groups put people in touch for regular, informal get-togethers in each other’s homes - an invaluable opportunity to get to know others and share information and experiences while your children make new friends. Many of the groups also organise other events for the children e.g. picnics during the summer, swimming and evening social events for parents.

You don’t have to join a group in the area you live; you are welcome to contact any group you like. The groups vary in size and meet on different days, so a group outside your area may suit you better than the one nearest to you. We are currently looking for coffee group co-ordinators for Leicester South and West End. You may also start a new group in your area, for example if you live in Hinckley, Narborough or Endeby or in the Belgrave Road area. E-mail Miriam if you are interested

You don’t have to be a member of the NCT to come along to the coffee groups and you can go along regularly or less frequently as suits you. There is no pressure to be on the hosts’ rota if you don’t feel able to do this. We do ask for a small donation to help cover the cost of running the groups.

You are welcome to come along if you are still pregnant, if you are breast or bottle-feeding and whatever your birth experience. You will also be able to heat up bottles and baby food if you need to.

Open house coffee group – City South. Monday mornings (term time) 9.30am -11.30 am. Covers Stoneygate, Clarendon Park, Aylestone, Oadby and Wigston. To be relaunched Spring 2012. The relaunch meeting took place on April 16 between 10 to 11.30am in Pre School Learning Alliance (next to Landsdowne SureStart - 70 Knighton Lane LE2 8BE). The future meetings will be confirmed soon.

Open house coffee group – West End. Fridays 1.30pm – 3.30pm. Covers Western Park, Dane Hills, Westcotes, Narborough Road, Fosse Road. To be relaunched in April or May 2012.

Open house coffee group – North West Leicester. Fridays 10am – 12pm (term time). Covers Anstey, Glenfield, Kirby Muxloe, Leicester Forest East, Newton Linford, Markfield, Birstall. E-mail Madz about the coming meetings.

Market Harborough & Leics South Coffee Group. Held at The Angel Hotel, High Street, Market Harborough. Fridays 10am -12.30pm. Covers Market Harborough, Lutterworth, Great Glen and surrounding villages. Relaunched as a Bumps and Babies group. Email Miriam for further details.
