Antenatal Support
So, you have booked in with the Midwife, got lots of information to read, things to remember to eat, drink and not eat! What next? First of all, book yourself onto one of the NCT antenatal courses, then why not consider joining either Working Bumps (if you're still working) or perhaps Cafe Bambino or Bumps and Babes if you are free during the day.
Antenatal & Refresher Courses
We offer courses to small groups of pregnant women and couples. You learn about all the different aspects of pregnancy, childbirth and early parenthood and get to meet other expectant parents who live locally. We also run childbirth refresher courses for parents expecting their second child or more.
A fee is charged for these courses but discretionary reductions are available. Classes are popular so it is wise to book as early as you can to ensure a place.
Contact Deborah Lewis on 0844 243 6884, email: bookings5s@nct.org.uk or click here to view courses online.

NCT Tip
Attend our groups whilst you are still pregnant, perhaps at the beginning of your maternity leave. You will make friends before you give birth and maybe even share the experience with someone - quite often mums will see each other at the hospital either at visits or sometimes even on the day itself! When you have had your baby, it will be much easier meeting with existing friends than establishing a whole new network as well as looking after your little bundle of joy.
Bumps and Babes
Bumps and Babes is a small, friendly group providing the opportunity for new mums and mums-to-be to meet on a regular basis to socialise and meet new friends. If you are pregnant or have a baby under 12 months (older siblings are welcome too) you are warmly welcomed at these new two hour sessions run by Sue at ACE Space in Newbury. There will be the guest speaker on a baby-related topic like baby resuscitation, weaning, local services for youngsters etc. in fact, the main difference is the new venue. Click here for more information.
Working Bumps
This is for all new Mums and Dad’s-to-be, but it is especially good if you are not on an antenatal course or yours hasn’t started yet, since it will give you a great way of meeting others, sharing information, and finding out more about what the NCT can offer you. Click here for more information.
