ARE YOU PREGNANT AND WANT PAMPERING?

Come to the Working Bumps Pamper Evening

Wednesday 25 April 8 – 9.30pm at Nuffield Health, conference room

Free entry, reduced priced mini treatments all aimed to support and help you during pregnancy.

You don’t need to be a member. Come and chat to other local exepectant mothers while you have your treatments. Bring your friends. Spread the word!

Next Nearly New Sale 

Our next sale is on Saturday September 22^nd at Kennet School, Thatcham. Remember you do not need to be a member to sell and clear out some of your outgrown clothes, toys and baby equipment. We have implemented a commission cap for the more expensive items like pushchairs so any one item of any price over £40 will only donate £12 to the NCT charity. If you are interested in finding out more email nearlynewsales@newburynct.org or keep an eye on our website, our Facebook page and our Twitter account and it will say what date the seller registration will open for the September sale. Don’t forget you can also help out on the day of the sale, whether you are selling or not. All volunteers get a chance to have a pre sale shop as a thank you and amazingly it is actually really good fun even though you are working!

New Relax, Stretch & Breathe classes

The Relax, Stretch and Breathe class is Yoga based exercise for pregnancy and birth preparation. Turn up and join in any session and for more information, contact Stacey Dornan on 01488 644620.

Mum’s Night Off

On Jan 20^th a Mum’s Night Off had been organised at the Elcot Park Hotel.  It was very well coordinated and all you had to do once purchasing the £15 ticket was to dress up and turn up! Everyone there thoroughly enjoyed their well deserved “night off” with yummy food, dancing and lots of chatting to friends. All without the company of our much adored little ones demanding attention. The Elcot Park Hotel was a great venue and provided a lovely place for everyone to make the most of their rare chance to relax and unwind, much needed after the very hectic Christmas holidays. Thanks to Jo and Rani for organising a brilliant night and giving a donation to the Newbury NCT for each ticket sold. Thanks to all that bought tickets in supporting us whilst having so much fun!

New Baby First Aid Courses in Thatcham

NCT has teamed up with the British Red Cross to create a bespoke Baby first aid course. This unique course is aimed specifically for those caring for babies and pre school children. It will give you the chance to learn and practise vital first aid skills that could one day save your child’s life.

The two hour course will be delivered by an expert British Red Cross trainer and will cover topics that typically concern parents such as delivering CPR, choking and burns. Every parent has worries about facing an emergency situation involving their child. This course will address your fears giving you lots of practise in lifesaving techniques and plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

The Newbury NCT Baby first aid courses take place in North Thatcham Children's Centre and there is free parking, refreshments will be served and any facilities you need if you bring your baby to the course are available.

It costs £25 per person for the 2 hour course (concessions available - please ask for details) and places are limited. We book on a first come first served basis with your place secured once a cheque is received. It is very popular and we do have a waiting list for the next courses which you will be put on if you miss out the first time you book.

Eddie Catz Crawlers and Explorers Christmas Party December 2011

This was the second year we had Crawlers and Explores Christmas party at Eddie Catz. For the first hour, the children had a chance to run around and enjoy the facilities of Eddie Catz. Following which the Elves walked us through to Santa's Grotto. We didn't have to wait long before Father Christmas arrived with his big red book, where he gave out some lovely presents to the children. Santa was ready to leave, when to everybody's surprise Eddie Catz himself turned up and gave lots of cuddles to everyone. Just before it was time to go home, we all went to the Cafe, where the mums could enjoy a lovely cup of tea and the children enjoyed having their snack whilst playing with their new toys.

"I attended the NCT Crawlers & Explorers Christmas party with my two daughters and they had a fabulous time. Meeting Father Christmas was a real highlight and Eddie Catz also came to see our group so that was a double treat. It was lovely to be able to enjoy quality soft-play time in combination with a special visit from Santa. Nearly New Sale on 3rd December 2011

We had a fun time on Sat 3 Dec at our Toy and Equipment only sale. We had lots of people through the door and couldn’t have done the sale without the very willing volunteers who made it run so efficiently. We hope many people went away with either more room in their house for the influx of Christmas toys or/and some really good bargains to entertain their little ones. Overall we passed on £1580 to the sellers and the NCT kept a profit of £716. Many thanks to all the sellers and helpers and we hope to see you all again in March next year.
