Help Save Your Newcastle & Gateshead Branch
Newcastle & Gateshead branch faces closure because the branch team does not have the required named roles and volunteers to continue operating as a branch under The Branch Charter. This closure will have a tremendous affect on everyone in the Newcastle & Gateshead community as all events (including the Nearly New Sales) will cease.
The NCT Board of Trustees created the Branch Charter, which all branches must adhere to. The purpose of this document is to clarify the role of branches and their operations. All charities in England are regulated by The Charity Commission. This is to ensure that charities conform to certain requirements which allow them to maintain their charity status. It is the responsibility of the repective Boards of Trustees to issue documents and guidelines which employees and volunteers use to carry out the charities' vision and mission.
There are a number of roles which must be filled to prevent closure of the branch. See the attached document to find out which roles are vacant and what they entail.
Why not consider becoming a volunteer and taking one of the roles. Volunteering is a great way to make new friends, learn new skills and represent the NCT.
Branches are the F.A.C.E. (Fun, Accessibly, Caring and Encouraging) of NCT and can make a tremendous contribution to their communities by providing much needed services and support groups. Hundreds of parents have told us how important it is to have NCT services available in their communities, as without them they would have nowhere to turn for help and support.
In today's fast paced world, you are probably wondering where on earth you would find the time to volunteer. The beauty of NCT is that we are a family friendly organisation and a lot of the roles can be done with the little ones in tow (or when they are in bed asleep!) Everyone has skills that would be useful. If you found NCT helpful, why not get involved in helping us to reach more parents and make a diffrence in your area.
If you are interested in volunteering, or to find out more information, contact the North East Regional Coordinator, Natalie Rickman at regionnortheast@nct.org.uk or on 0844 243 6423
We are still running antenatal and postnatal courses in your area, please search for one using the link on the right hand side, or you can contact Leigh, NCT Bookings at bookings7c@nct.org.uk or on 0844 243 6851
