North Cheshire NCT offer a wide range of services, including antenatal classes to help prepare you for the birth of your baby and postnatal groups to help you meet other parents both before and after the birth.

The branch is run by local parents and aims to offer support, information and friendship to new parents and parents-to-be. We hold local Nearly New Sales, usually twice a year, run local Bumps& Babes groups and branch socials, and also provide breastfeeding counsellor support and valley cushion hire. We also have a branch Yahoo! group, where you can read regular updates on what we're doing, share local information, ask for help and buy and sell nursery equipment. You do not have to be a member of the NCT to benefit from any of the services we offer, though members do also receive a variety of benefits, including national magazine, a regular local newsletter, early entrance to our famous Nearly New Sales, access to the NCT's house swap register, and discounts in the NCT shop.

We are keen to help (and to have your help if you feel like volunteering!), so whether you are expecting a baby, are a new parent, or are a family who have just moved into the area, please do get in touch with us.

Nearly New Sale news – another success!!

Our recent nearly new sale was another great success for NCT and the new venue was ideal for sellers and shoppers alike!  If you enjoyed this sale or missed out and want to know when the next one is, keep your eyes peeled for the next date announcement.

A lot of organisation goes into running these sales and they will only continue if we have sufficient volunteers to help out. Volunteering is great fun, and can be a great way of easing yourself into helping ot to see if it’s for you. Plus if you help for three hours or more then you will also get to attend a private pre-sale to get a head-start on the bargains!

New Bumps and Babes Group

A brand new bumps and babes group has started on the 2nd May at Prendoolys Indoor Play Centre, Newton-le-willows.  The group is from 10.30am every Wednesday during term times. Bumps and babes is a fantastic opportunity for mums-to-be and new mums to meet and chat over a cuppa! 

New venue for Lymm Bumps & Babes group

Please note that the venue for the Lymm Bumps & Babes group has now moved to the Sanctuary Café, next to the library. The group meets weekly on Tuesday mornings at 10.30 am and all are welcome, so please come along.

Spring 2012 newsletter out now

The latest issue of In Touch, our branch newsletter, is out now and available from libraries, children's centres, hospitals, soft play centres and other distribution centres throughout the North Cheshire area. Branches are led by volunteers and offer local parents and parents-to-be invaluable support, services and NCT events, to help them get the most out of their new roles. By contacting your local NCT Branch you will find out about:

• Support networks for parents - NCT Branches support you before, during and after your baby arrives; Whether or not you attend NCT antenatal or postnatal courses in your area, there'll be NCT volunteers who offer you opportunities to meet up and make friends and share experiences at coffee mornings, bumps and babies sessions and other support groups.
• NCT Nearly New Sales -the cost of kitting out your baby or toddler can run into thousands. NCT Nearly New Sales are the perfect solution - top-quality baby and children's clothes and equipment at bargain prices straight from their loving owners.
• NCT volunteering opportunities - have fun helping with NCT branch activities, use your skills to support local parents and meet new people from your community.
• Local NCT social and fundraising events - giving you the chance to meet other parents while supporting your local branch and the wider NCT

Branches are the local FACE of NCT - "Fun, Accessible, Caring and Encouraging" - They aim to reflect these values in their local community, so do join in!
