Nearly New Sale news – new date, new venue

The next NCT North Cheshire Branch Nearly New Sale is on Sunday the 20th of May 2012 and will be held at the Thelwall Parish Hall, on the on the corner of Thelwall New Road and All Saints Drive in Thelwall WA4 2SX. There is plenty of parking at the venue and the venue can be reached by bus on routes 5,37A or 38 with the bus stop at the Pickering arms being the closest to the venue. Doors open at 12.30pm to the general public and at 12pm to NCT members.

If you would like to register to sell at the sale (you don’t have to be an NCT member), please send an email to nnsregistration@yahoo.co.uk including your name, address and telephone number.

A lot of organisation goes into running these sales and they will only continue if we have sufficient volunteers to help out. Volunteering is great fun, and can be a great way of easing yourself into helping ot to see if it’s for you. Plus if you help for three hours or more then you will also get to attend a private pre-sale to get a head-start on the bargains!

Please remember: the more people we attract to the sale, the more of your clothes, toys and equipment we'll sell, so help us to help you by spreading the word and passing on details of the sale to all your friends and family who may be interested coming along.

New venue for Lymm Bumps & Babes group

Please note that the venue for the Lymm Bumps & Babes group has now moved to the Sanctuary Café, next to the library. The group meets weekly on Tuesday mornings at 10.30 am and all are welcome, so please come along.

Branch at risk of closure - can you help? URGENT CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

CAN YOU HELP?
NCT North Cheshire is an active and thriving branch, offering a whole host of essential services to new and expectant parents around the Warrington area, including antenatal classes, breastfeeding counselling, Bumps & Babies groups, bra fitting, Nearly New Sales, social evenings and newsletters.

However, WE NEED A COMMITTEE TO HELP ADMINISTER THESE SERVICES. The Branch will close unless we fill a number of positions. If this was to happen that would mean that new and expectant parents in the Warrington area would be forced to travel to other areas for support.

Getting involved is great fun and a fantastic way to meet other parents in your area as well. If you’re on maternity leave or not working it can help keep your brain ticking over … and if you are working then it can help you keep in touch with what’s going on locally for your family. We work very much as a team, all supporting one another in our different roles as we work to provide services to support local families.

The main posts we need to fill are Branch Coordinator (Branch Chair), Branch Treasurer, Branch Parent Support Coordinator and Parent Support Contact for our Bumps & Babies group in North Warrington. Without these positions filled there is no branch. There are also several other support roles available: whatever your interests there is bound to be something for you to get involved with so please do get in touch. No previous experience is necessary and we also welcome Mums, Dads and other family members as volunteers.

New Facebook pages

The branch has a new page on Facebook (search for NCT North Cheshire) and there is also a new group for NCT across the whole of the North West (search for North West NCT), both of which will help you stay up to date with what we’re up to and give information on the various events that we run throughout the area.

Autumn Nearly New Sale success and date announced for Spring 2012

Early November saw our latest nearly new sale take place, with over 60 sellers and several hundred shoppers turning out in beautiful sunshine in search of high quality baby bargains. We raised over £3,200 in sales alone with raffle and refreshments still to be added. Many thanks to our sponsors who donated fabulous raffle prizes and to all our volunteers – we couldn’t do it without you.

Our next sale is pencilled in for 10th March 2012 – keep an eye on our Facebook page or our egroup for more details nearer the time, including information on the venue, how to register to sell and how to volunteer to help out on the day.

New Lymm Bumps & Babes group launching in November

We have a new weekly Bumps & Babes group launching on 25th November. The group will meet weekly on Friday mornings at the Coffee House in Lymm at 10.30 am. All welcome, so please come along.

Winter 2011 Newsletter out now

The latest issue ofIn Touch, our branch newsletter, is out now and available from libraries, children's centres, hospitals, soft play centres and other distribution centres throughout the North Cheshire area. Members also receive a copy through the post. To read a copy of the newsletter online, please see this page, where you can download a copy from the purple box at the bottom of the page.
