Early Days
The NCT has helped many new mums and dads to make new friends and find support during the early days of parent hood. The North West London NCT Group has several options for those looking to meet other parents. All are open to members and non-members alike, and most are free (unless stated otherwise). All events and groups are run by unpaid volunteers who fit their NCT roles around their families and sometimes their jobs too. Full details of all upcoming events (but not postnatal groups) can be found on the Events page.

Early Days Postnatal Course
This is a standard NCT Early Days Postnatal course covering topics such as sleeping, feeding, relationships, and returning to work. The sessions will take place at The Alice House Cafe in West Hampstead NW6. Refreshments will be provided. The course is open to all mums with babies no less than 6 weeks and no more than 6 months at the start of the course.
Led by an NCT trained Postnatal Leader, these courses are designed to support you to become the parent you want to be. The groups provide a relaxed, friendly and supportive atmosphere in which to openly talk about your life as a new parent. It is a chance to put YOU first; to discuss your hopes and fears, to gather ideas to help meet the challenges, to celebrate the successes and reconcile your expectations with reality. You will get to meet other mums with babies of a similar age, make friends, develop new ideas, gain support and encouragement and have a hot drink! The Postnatal Leader will not act as an expert or dispense advice, but will help you decide what is best for your baby, yourself and your family.
Subjects covered may include: ·
- The difference between expectations and the reality of parenthood
- Skills for being a parent
- Daily patterns· Returning to work, or not·
- The change in your relationship with your partner and the wider family.
Concessions are available for places on this course; please enquire in confidence about these. For further information, or to request a booking on this course, please fill out the enquiry form below. You should expect a response within 7 days.

Postnatal Groups
These groups are held in each of the postcodes (NW1, NW2, NW3, NW4, NW5, NW6, NW8, NW9, NW10, NW11) covered by the branch (Please note: except NW8 at present as there is no volunteer in that area).
The groups are run by Postnatal Co-ordinators, who set up informal groups of new mums, usually when babies are 6-8 weeks old. Members and class bookers are automatically invited, but all local mums are welcome to attend, simply contact your local postnatal co-ordinator, or if you can't see their contact details, Anna at chairnctnw@yahoo.co.uk.
The groups meet once with the postnatal co-ordinator, after which they are free to make their own arrangements to meet on a regular basis.
If your baby is older than about 8 weeks, Bumps and Babies would be a more suitable place to meet other parents.
