- VOLUNTEERS NEEDED -

We need volunteers to help run our Monday 'Mothers and Others' group as part of a rota. Without your help we might not be able to keep this group running. Interested? Contact us to talk about what's needed.

We also have some vacancies for roles on the NCT Committee - they provide a great opportunity to meet local parents and families as well as develop new or existing skills and experience!  Detailed job descriptions for most positions can be found under 'related documents' below, but to summarise we are looking for the following:

• Advertising Co-ordinator who works with the editor to sell advertising to companies/individuals offering services of interest to our readership and help cover the newsletter’s costs
• Joint Nearly New Sale Co-ordinator (details to follow or email us for more information)
• Postnatal Co-ordinator (details to follow or email us for more information)
• Facebook/PR leader - who develops relationships with the local media, writes and places press releases and helps publicise the local NCT
• Fundraiser - who puts together a fundraising team, works with the team to devise a fundraising plan and organises the events – there are lots of guides to help with this, for example the Branch Guide to Nearly New Sales. We need to raise money for our local activities, to cover our students’ expenses and make out contribution to the wider work of the NCT.

Branches are led by volunteers and offer local parents and parents-to-be invaluable support, services and NCT events, to help them get the most out of their new roles. Orpington & District NCT branch offers support, information and friendship to parents and parents-to-be including:

• a quarterly newsletter
• Nearly New Sales
• regular coffee groups
• social evenings
• a weekly baby and toddler group
• breastfeeding counsellors
• antenatal courses

• Support networks for parents - NCT Branches support you before, during and after your baby arrives; Whether or not you attend NCT antenatal or postnatal courses in your area, there'll be NCT volunteers who offer you opportunities to meet up and make friends and share experiences at coffee mornings, bumps and babies sessions and other support groups.
• NCT Nearly New Sales - the cost of kitting out your baby or toddler can run into thousands. • NCT volunteering opportunities - have fun helping with NCT branch activities, use your skills to support local parents and meet new people from your community
• Local NCT social and fundraising events - giving you the chance to meet other parents while supporting your local branch and the wider NCT. 

Branches are the local FACE of NCT - "Fun, Accessible, Caring and Encouraging" - we aim to reflect these values in our local community, so do join in!
