Volunteer

Volunteering with your local branch can be a great way to try out new things - like newsletter editing for example. It helps keep your skills base up whilst on maternity leave or perhaps even taking a break from work altogether, and most of all to keep you in touch with other parents and to meet new people.

We are always looking for volunteers to:

• host events such as postnatal coffee mornings
• send out letters requesting raffle prizes
• write articles for the branch newsletter
• promote our events by putting up posters and posting details on websites
• promote our advertising opportunities to local family orientated businesses
• help out at events such as the Nearly New Sale, Cheeky Monkeys Tea Party, etc

Get chatting online

Our Facebook page is a great way of staying involved - even when you are too busy to come along to our meetings and events. The page is open to both members and non-members, so invite other mums or dads in the area to join it too!

We also have 2 local egroups. One is specifically for dads and is an informal place where local dads can ask each other questions, post answers and arrange social events. Subscribe by emailing nctpeterboroughdads-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. The other egroup is for members who wish to get occasional reminders of our events etc and you can subscribe by emailing PeterboroughNCT-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

Come to an event

Bumps and Babies is an ideal way for all expectant parents and new parents of babies (under one) to make new friends. The group is open to everyone in Peterborough and the surrounding areas. You are guaranteed a warm welcome, a cuppa and biscuit. On the first Tuesday in every month we have extra volunteers on hand to welcome 2nd time parents with a toddler/preschooler as well as a bump or baby.

Bumps and Babies runs 1pm - 2.30pm every Tuesday afternoon at St Jude's Church (corner of Cranford Drive/Atherstone Avenue) in Netherton, Peterborough. There is no admission charge, but we do welcome small donations to help cover hall hire and refreshments. The group runs in the holidays - changes are annouced via our Facebook group.
