Breastfeeding Support

The National Childbirth Trust has over 400 breastfeeding counsellors. Their services are provided free to anyone and you can reach a counsellor by calling our breastfeeding line on 0300 330 0700 from 8am to midnight, 354 days a year. We are lucky in our branch to have a dedicated Bresatfeeding support drop-in group called B.A.B.I.E.S (Babies and Breastfeeding: Information, Education, Support) where you can come and talk through your feeding issues or concerns. The drop-in is run by our four branch breastfeeding counsellors who are equally happy to talk to you on the phone or by email (or meet you at home or in a group):
B.A.B.I.E.S Every Tuesday, 9.30-11.30, House Ground Rm, Triangle Centre, Liss. Call Ceri for more details.

The most common reasons that women give when they stop breastfeeding are sore nipples and the feeling that there is not enough milk. These, and other problems can often be overcome by simple things such as changing the position of the baby at the breast, and it can be really helpful to get some support. The following resources should help to provide you with just that support. Some are through the NCT, some are through the NHS and SureStart Children's Centres, while others are external resources.
A NCT breastfeeding counsellor is always in attendance at the Baby Talk groups on Wednesday (10-12) at the United reform Church in Liss and Thursday (10-12) at the United reform Church in Petersfield.
