Other opportunities
• Professor Vasu Reddy at the University of Portsmouth is conducting a study to see how babies track peoples' actions with their eyes. So, if you have a baby who was born between January - June 2011 and would like your little one to take part, you can contact Vasu on 02392 846307 (& leave a message) or you can email her at vasu.reddy@port.ac.uk
• If anyone is interested in joining other mums for buggy walks in the mornings in Southsea, or is part of a group who already does this and would be happy for others to join, please contact Kathy, at nctchairportsmouth@live.co.uk
It would be nice to get mums together who are interested in postnatal fitness on an informal basis.
• Portsmouth City Council's road safety and sustainable travel team are concerned that they have discovered a 90% fail rate in childrens' car seats. They are working to find out why this is. In order to provide a clearer picture for them, they are asking parents to complete a survey, which can be found at http://www.portsmouth.gov.uk/living/634.html There is a prize draw to win a £50 baby store voucher. The team will be running 6 'car seat check' dates this year, at supermarkets and leisure areas - please check the website at the above address or Flagship magazine for details.
• Claire Pond, Head of Engagement and Experience in the NHS, is currently seeking feedback on how the NHS can improve the experiences for parents in terms of productivity (doing the same but more efficiently) and system transformating (changing the way our healthcare is delivered). This is a great way in which to offer your experiences. To take advantage of this opportunity, please visit www.portsmouth.nhs.uk/Join-In/Consultations/Sustainability.htm for an electronic form.
