Volunteering opportunities

 The branch is always keen to welcome new members. Many people don’t realise that branch activities are operated by volunteers, usually parents with young children, who want to help other families.

 Volunteering for our branch gives you an opportunity to use, and develop your skills, experience, creativity and enthusiasm while making a difference to parents locally and most of all make friends and have fun.

 Volunteering for NCT is not just for women or parents – everybody is welcome. If you feel that you want to support NCT to provide parents with a better experience of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood please consider taking a role on your local branch team.

We really need:

Events sub-committee member

We want to run a number of events but need helpers to do this. Each event is split up into tasks, so volunteers are needed that either want to lead with organising an event or to take on tasks, including helping on the day.
 
Postnatal support 

One of our most valued services is organising 'bumps and babies' groups. We are looking for a volunteer to take organise bumps and babies meetings. This involves taking a list of pregnant ladies, contacting them (via phone and email) and then organising a meeting at either your house or at another volunteer’s house for them all to meet. After this they will then meet up independently. 

Nearly New Sale – seller co-ordinator

Our twice yearly Nearly New Sale is the branch's biggest fundraiser. For a successful sale, we need sellers. The person in this role sends out info packs to those that register in the NCT NNS email inbox, collects signed contracts from sellers, and then sends out labels to them and answers any queries. If you only want to volunteer on a project basis then this role is for you. The majority of the activity takes place from about 6/8 weeks before the sale. The next sale is 24th March, the following one will be March. You will receive training/support from our NNS Co-ordinator.
 
Nearly New Sale – helper’s co-ordinator

Our twice yearly Nearly New Sale is the branch's biggest fundraiser. It takes a number of volunteers to make the NNS happen, and we need somebody to manage them. The person in this role will email out asking for volunteers, collate a list of volunteers and their contact details, email details of the helpers evening and then email a final reminder to helper’s before the day. If you only want to volunteer on a project basis then this role is for you. The majority of the activity takes place from about 6/8 weeks before the sale. The next sale is 1st Oct, the following one will be in March. You will receive training/support from our NNS Co-ordinator.
