Get Involved
If you support the NCT and want to make a difference for other parents, why not think about joining and / or volunteering for us?
Why?
Because you’ll make new friends and have fun plus you can use your skills to help a charity or even learn new ones. See more information here about the benefits of NCT membership.
What?
There’s something to interest everyone for you to come along to and join in with!
There are meet ups at people's houses, mums' nights out, groups for people with special interest in different areas of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood (if we don't have a group for something you want - let us know and you can help start it!), other socials and activities.
Volunteer tasks range from helping at a Nearly New Sale or delivering a branch newsletter, to keeping the local membership database, planning and organising fundraising events, computer based book-keeping, representing the NCT on outside bodies, evaluating research, writing articles, editing newsletters … You can use any skills you already have; or you can learn a new skill that will be useful for your CV in the future.
How much time?
As little, or as much, as you want - our branch activities are drop-in so if you want to attend once that is fine or if you want to come every time we would love to see you again too.
All our volunteers are valued if they can help at one event a year or give us an hour a week of there time. Our volunteer roles and tasks can always be broken down and shared between friends or others in the team.
