Antenatal classes

We have several antenatal teachers, running classes throughout the year. Groups are organised so that you will be with others due to have their baby around the same time. Classes are a great way to meet other new parents and get the information you need to make informed choices about pregnancy, childbirth and early parenthood. There are refresher courses for those of you who have done it before.

Breast pump hire

Electric pumps can be hired from branch pump holders. In the early days, you might want to use a breast pump to help breastfeed premature or sick babies, to continue breastfeeding your baby if he can't feed from you or to overcome a breastfeeding difficulty. As your baby gets older, breast pumps can be useful for continuing breastfeeding after you return to work.

Breastfeeding Counsellors

Southampton NCT branch have two qualified breastfeeding counsellors who you can talk to on the phone or come to see at the weekly Breastfeeding Drop-In session. Our breastfeeding counsellors can offer support and information on any aspect of breastfeeding, including the hire of breast pumps.

Breastfeeding Drop-In

Our qualified breastfeeding counsellors run a breastfeeding support group for new and expectant mums providing information, friendship and support. Please drop in any Tuesday between 10am-12pm at Botley Hop-a-long Children's centre, Botley Cof E Primary School, 53 High Street, Botley, SO30 2EA.

Home Birth Support Group

This informal group helps mothers to find out more about the option of homebirth. It offers professional support as well as practical advice from those who have done it before. Postnatal Classes

Our NCT Early Days Postnatal course is aimed at new mums and covers topics such as sleeping, feeding, relationships, and returning to work. Led by an NCT trained Postnatal Leader, these courses are designed to support you to become the parent you want to be.

Valley Cushion hire

Sitting comfortably after delivery is often easier said than done. The valley cushion provides welcome relief whether sitting in a chair or in bed by allowing you to adjust the level of support whilst ensuring sore areas are kept free from painful pressure.
