Baby Bar

Breastfeeding drop in once a week, on Wed 11.30 – 1.30 in the Wantage Clinic on Mably Way in Wantage. Organised together with the local health visitors, midwives, breastfeeding counsellors and volunteers. If you have any questions or problems with breastfeeding - go along to the babybar and talk to someone who will be very happy to help you.

Bra fitting - **currently unavailable - awaiting volunteer**

Did you know that fitting a breastfeeding bra needs a different set of criteria from fitting a normal bra?

*Your ribcage will expand and then go back to normal proportions a few weeks after the birth

*Your breasts will round out with milk and increase in size

*Wearing the wrong bra can cause blockages of your milk ducts

*Your breasts will need extra support

*Comfort and a bra that is easy to use will be a high priority for you

*A breastfeeding bra should be comfortable for the majority of your feeding time. Occasionally engorgement may make your new bra tight, so ensure you check and adjust the bra each time you feed.
When to buy a feeding bra?

The ideal time to be fitted for a breastfeeding bra is at 36 weeks. By this time your ribcage will have expanded by 1"-2" / 1cm-5cm.

NCT Bras are fitted by appointment by a trained volunteer - we have a variety of bra's in different sizes for your to try on. Please contact your Wantage based NCT Bra Agent on 0844 243 6313 Option 5.

If you are sore, aching or tender after giving birth, sitting may be painful. The Valley Cushion gives total support - reducing healing time and allowing you to sit comfortably, relax and enjoy your new baby.
