Cheeky Monkey Tea Party's
Cheeky Monkeys Tea Parties 2011 – Double Trouble!
For 2011 we decided to hold not one but two Cheeky Monkeys Tea Party’s to raise funds for the NCT Post-Natal Support Line. We had the first party in Worcester and then a second one in Droitwich...
Worcester – Saturday 16th July
We had spent months planning a wonderful outdoor party at The River School with a story corner in the shade of the trees and a treasure hunt through the orchard, but a week of rain left us redrawing our plans at the last minute. Thankfully we were able to move a lot of our activities and all the stands of our supporters into the sports hall and classrooms. We even managed to have Tumble Tots with their fantastic equipment in a classroom and a visit from Peppa Pig made both old and young at the party smile!
The bad weather did result in lower than expected attendance, but it was still a lively party with lots to see and do including the arts and crafts tables, hook a duck and lots of stands – I particularly liked any of the stands that had food. We also had taster sessions from Rhythm Time and Come Sign With Me. The canvas painting was popular, we lost count of how many small (and large) foot and hand prints were made, the smallest being the foot of a beautiful baby who was just a few weeks old.
A wonderful time was had by all of those who attended and all the volunteers and supporters who made the day possible. The party was attended by Andrea who is one of the Community Support Officers form the Local Policing Team who came along, bringing lots of useful information and a Police Car which delighted my 3½ year old amongst others.
Droitwich – Saturday 27th August
The Droitwich party was held at the wonderful venue of Droitwich Leisure Centre, the location of the Nearly New Sale just a few weeks earlier. We took over the whole of the main hall in the Leisure Centre so that we could have all of the inflatables, including the giant monkey head ball pool, and a full activity circuit provided by Tumble Tots.
We had taster sessions from Rhythm Time and Baby Sensory, and Rushwick Therapies were on hand to give wonderful (and fully clothed) seated massage that was enjoyed by attendees, volunteers and even one of the Fire-fighters who brought the fire engine to the party.
The fire engine was enjoyed by old and young alike, with many Fireman Sam fans at the party and several were even wearing their Fireman Sam t-shirts. Peppa Pig joined in the party and gave lots of hugs and had lots of photos taken with young and old.
The party was also attended by Alun who is one of the Community Support Officers form the Local Policing Team who came along on his bicycle. A wonderful time was had by all attendees, supporters and volunteers.
A big thank you to all attendees, supporters and volunteers who definitely made our Cheeky Monkeys Tea Parties for 2011 lots of fun and a great success.
