Our Branch Ashby Burton & Coalville

We are all volunteers, parents and expectant parents just like you.  We commit whatever time we can, every little helps.  Being involved is a great way to learn new skills, make new friends, and represent the NCT and enjoy some adult company!

Vounteer to help at an event, write an article for our newsletter, host a coffee morning, train to be an ante-natal teacher or breast feeding counsellor.. the branch is only as active as we make it. 

Area 

Our branch covers Ashby, Burton & Coalville and all surrounding villages.  We have lots of social events going on every month, run three nearly new sales a year and produce four quarterly newsletters a year.   We are also looking to start up a bumps, babies and toddler group in late 2008 / early 2009.

Newsletter 

To get a copy of the branches quarterly newsletter "bumps, babies and beyond" contact us on abcnctmembership@googlemail.com.  We can send you a copy it contains fun and informative articles and information about our branch and all the social events going on. 

The theme for the next newsletter is "winter" so if you have any good ideas for wintery games or activities, a recipes, a winter poem or picture you'd like to share, send it to Julia on abcnctnewsletter@googlemail.com

New members 

New members and first timers coffee mornings - Once a month we host a new members and first timers coffee morning, by first timer we mean first time to coffee mornings not neccessarily first time mum although you could be both!  Come along and find out more about the branch in an informal way, the next one is Friday 5th December 10.00 - 11.30 am. NEARLY NEW SALE TEAM

The nearly new sales take  a lot of organisation and we always need help to run them, this year we've broken down the tasks into smaller teams  - join one of them and take part, 

1.  Marketing the nearly new sale :  Arranging the printing out posters advertising the sale and arranging distribution of the posters.  Ensuring that all areas are covered and general promotion and publicity of the sale.

2.  Friday set-up : Meet at the hall on the evening preceding the sale and help put up the clothes rails and organise the sale area and bags. 

3.  Pre sale administration:  Ensure the stationery box is fully stocked and that we have name badges for everyone, sold stickers, blue tac, tape, all general admin jobs.  

4.  Catering management & raffle : Teas coffees juices and cakes.  Organise raffle tickets and prizes.  

5.  Sellers registration : Handle sellers enquiries by post, phone or e-mail.  send out pre-registration packs. 

6.  Sponsorship and other supplier advertising :  The sale is sponsored by a few businesses, these companies display their leaflets at the tills and have leaflets put in the sale bags. 

7.  Nearly New Sale : Volunteer to do a job on the day itself.

8. Clear up : Dismantle the rails and clean up the hall.

Our committe currently has 10 members, join us and help shape the future of the branch, roles include secretary, membership secretary, treasurer, chair, newsletter co-ordinator, nearly new sales co-ordinator, post-natal co-ordinator, publicity co-ordinator, website admin and many others.   We are currently recruiting for a co-chair and other roles...
