WHAT YOU CAN SELL
Nearly new babies, childrens under fives and maternity clothes, toys and equipment. All items should be in good (nearly new|) condition. Quality checks will be carried out and sub-standard items removed. Clothes should be washed and ironed and on hangers if possible. Sort clothes into age groups. Please bag up all toys with parts and tape up boxes of games and jigsaws. Make sure all toys and equipment are clean. Put all toys with small parts in clear bags and seal well. The ideal is to bag smaller items together into £1 or £2 lots. They tend to sell better and reduces the administartion.
Please DO NOT bring the following items - we are legally NOT allowed to sell: mattresses, baby bouncers, baby walkers, breast pumps, protective helmets, mains powered electrical items, car seats except booster seats, baby bottles, 3 in 1 pram systems can be sold but the car seat will be technically given away 'free' and labelled as such, as we are not allowed to sell them and hand knitted toys.
PRICING
You, the seller decide the price for each item. Please use multiples of £0.50p. Overpriced items will not sell. Bag up several cheaper items together. Smaller items should be bundled together in packs of four or five. Large items such as travel cots amd strollers should generally be priced at around 30% of the cost of a brand new item.
MONEY
All sellers are asked to provide an C5 or A4 addressed envelope, with a LARGE stamp. The money from the sales less 30% commission to the NCT and a £1.50 admin fee and your labels will be sent to you by cheque after the event. An additional £3.00 admin fee will be charged to all sellers who register after the closing date, and we may still be unable to accept you.
LABELLING -you must now use the official labels which are listed as an attachment to this page. Failure to do so, could mean your items will be removed from the sale. Ideally they should be printed on coloured paper to aid ease of sorting.
Before the event, you, the seller should
- Label up and price each item in multiples of 50p only
- On the label should be: Full name and registration number, brief description of the item and its size, the price and whether you want it to be returned or donated to charity if it doesn't sell
- Labels should be reasonably sturdy, strong paper or thin cardboard is ideal.
- Please, please do not use glue, parcel tape or masking tape to attach the labels.
- Labels MUST be attached securely to garments by sewing or safety pin. No ordinary pins or sellotape please. Use clear magic tape or string on larger items
- It is the sellers responsibility to ensure labels are attached securely, but bear in my mind that they also need to be removed easily at the tills.
- All items with lost labels are withdrawn from the sale for collection at the end
- DISCLAIMER : The committee reserves the right to refuse to sell items considered unsafe or unsuitable. The committee cannot accept responsisiblity for items lost or damaged during the sale.
