Planning your days with your little ones just got easier with the launch of a new guide packed with activities and tips for parents and carers of pre-school children in the Chilterns.

Whether you are looking for a baby signing class, a playgroup, a post-natal exercise class or just a friendly coffee morning and chat with like-minded mums, you will find all the information you need in The Under 5s Activity Guide.

The guide is the result of months of our branch’s extensive research in the area with the help of lottery funding.

NCT Chiltern’s project leader Joanne Bates, mum Alex (4) and Jenna (2) said: “When I became a new mum, I didn’t even know where my local park was. I would have killed for a guide like this to put in the changing bag.  Other guides are good but they don't have the detail on local activities like this one which, as a new mum, is the most important.  Our aim is to make it easier for parents and carers to find ways of entertaining their little ones and also to find opportunities to make friends with other carers.”

Apart from detailed listings of activities for pre-school children in Amersham, Chesham, the Chalfonts, Chorleywood, Great Missenden, Prestwood and Rickmansworth, the guide also offers suggestions for day trips further afield.  “The guide offers tips on how to make the best of family time at home and away.” says Ms Bates.
