Courses for parents-to-be
Led by qualified NCT antenatal teachers, our antenatal classes are renowned throughout the UK for providing parents with reliable information and choice.
| I attended an Antenatal course earlier this year and would really like to email someone at the NCT direct to say how marvellous and wonderful the teacher was. I just feel that Nicola deserves some thanks and praise for the marvellous job that she does! I honestly felt that she went above and beyond her call of duty to help us in any way she could at that very new and interesting time of having our first baby! She is truly an asset to the NCT. Each NCT Antenatal Course provides evidence-based information, backed by more than 50 years of NCT experience. They give you the opportunity to ask questions and make informed decisions about your labour and your baby’s birth.
Topics covered include:
- What is happening to your body during pregnancy
- Preparing for labour and birth
- Giving parents-to-be the opportunity to explore this life-change in context to their past and their future
- Assessing information in light of your personal needs and cultural context.
Most NCT antenatal courses include a session with a qualified breastfeeding counsellor. These friendly, practical sessions look at life with a new baby including breastfeeding and feeding choices.
