Bump to baby (perinatal) courses
Our Bump to Baby course is designed to give you a complete support system through your journey into parenthood. Covering preparing for birth, breastfeeding and early days with your baby, this course aims to give you everything you need for this life-changing experience.
What does the course involve?
After having my first baby last year I completed a six-week Early Days course. I liked the continuity of support, having been on the NCT antenatal course. Being able to talk to other mums going through the same experiences, at the same time, is a unique experience and really helped me. |
- Standard antenatal course, lasting 16 hours
- Breastfeeding class, lasting two hours
- Class reunion, to help you bond further with your group and create your local support network
- Postnatal discussion group, lasting six hours
Women and their partners or supporters generally attend together for the antenatal and breastfeeding part, which are usually held in the evening or on weekends. The postnatal course is usually attended by mums and generally runs on weekday mornings.
NCT Bump to baby courses are a great way to make sure you have the information and support you need to feel confident about life as a parent, as well as build a friendship group with other local parents.
What does the course cost?
NCT courses are priced according to the number of teaching hours and the area of the UK it takes place. You can find your nearest course through entering your postcode into our Course Finder.
We charge for courses in order to cover the costs to the charity for providing this service and to help us to provide services for all parents. Everyone is welcome to pay by installments and we offer discounts for parents in receipt of benefits or on lower incomes. Please request further information from the course administrator when you enquire about your course.
