Postnatal Activities

Croydon branch members and non members are fortunate that we are able to offer so much support in a variety of ways:

Bumps & Babies Groups

Purley 
When: Every Wednesday, 10am -12pm

Where: Christ Church. 861-863 Brighton Road, Purley CR8 2BB (near Tesco)

Woodside

When: Every Thursday, 12.30pm - 2pm

Where: Oasis Shirley Park Children's Centre, Malling Close, Stockbury Road, CR0 7YD

Bumps and Babies is a group for expectant parents and new mums and their babies.  It offers a space to chat and meet with other new parents and make new friends. Refreshments and toys are provided, special guests/activities such as baby massage will be invited along to talk to new parents and mums-to-be, together with breastfeeding peer support.

Postnatal groups 

We arrange informal meetings to have tea and talk to other mums which is a great way to make new friends.  Most people find it very reassuring to learn that they are not the only one going through a particular set of circumstances.  We try to keep the groups to a reasonable size to encourage people to get to know each other better and so that everyone, the car seats, change bags and other assorted paraphernalia can be accommodated comfortably when all the babies have made their appearance!

The aim of the postnatal group is to offer you both friendship in an informal, relaxed way.  Whether you are planning to return to work or not, the friendships that are made in these early weeks can turn out to be enduring and a real bonus now and in the years to come.

We ask for a one off voluntary donation of £10 to help cover the cost of setting up and running these groups.

Open Houses, play dates, meet a new friend, picnics, a meal out or theatre trip…. and so much more! 

Open Houses are a chance for NCT members to meet up over a cuppa.  Any branch member can open their home for a couple of hours or organise a meeting elsewhere in Croydon.

Open Houses are for members only.  We have a policy of not having companies advertising their wares at these events.

New Mums Night Out 

For new mums who are interested in:

 

• going out for a drink & a nice meal (again)
• wearing something fashionable & sexy (again)
• having a chat & laugh with the girls (again)
