First Aid for Babies and Young Children

We all hope our babies and children will be fit and healthy but if that unforeseen emergency situation ever occurs it's good to know what to do.  Would you know how to perform CPR on your baby or young child if this type of emergency were to happen?

Here at Dunmow & Braintree branch we can offer one informal friendly evening learning how to deal with common emergencies such as choking and febrile convulsions combined with knowing how to perform resuscitation and heart massage on a baby or young child.  A wallet card is provided with key CPR information for everyone who attends.

Everyone attending this event has the opportunity to practice the CPR techniques on baby and infant sized mannequins.

We welcome all expectant parents, new parents, husbands/partners, grandparents or anyone involved in caring for babies and young children to attend our first aid evening course.

This course is open to NCT members and non-members alike.  Places are limited and these courses prove to be very popular so early booking is essential.

The evening lasts approximately 2hrs with a break for refreshments giving you the chance to make new friends and meet other local parents; refreshments are included in the booking fee.

Tickets for our first aid evenings are £8 per person or £12 for couples.  The course is usually held on a weekday evening from 8pm-10pm

The first aid events are held at local venues in the Dunmow & Braintree branch area; postcode areas CM6, CM7 & CM77.

Very young babies, babes in arms or carseats or prams are very welcome; our facilitator is very accomodating and we have baby slings/carriers available to use if you need them.
