Welcome

Welcome to Halstead and Sudbury branch! Run by local parents, we offer support, information and friendship to all new parents and parents-to-be.

All our events are open to everyone – you do not have to be a member to come along.

Sudbury Baby & Toddler Group Sudbury Baby & Toddler Group

Branch Services

Babies, Toddlers & Mums-to-Be Groups – Sudbury on Wednesdays mornings and Halstead on Monday mornings.  These groups are the hubs of our branch and a great place to meet other parents over a cup of tea and a biscuit (sometimes they're even homemade!)  We have healthy snacks for toddlers, lots of toys and space for the older children to run around with a separate area for babies.

Both Halstead and Sudbury Groups run throughout the school holidays. Halstead group does not run on 4th Monday of the month

Nearly New Sales – of baby and toddler clothing, toys and equipment.  Sales run from 1030am-12 noon (pre-sale for NCT members and volunteers from 10am).

Maternity & Nursing Bra fitting - Our NCT bra-agent can supply and fit maternity and nursing bras from the NCT's award-winning range of very pretty and affordable bras.

Antenatal Classes - covering pregnancy, labour, birth, relaxation techniques, breastfeeding and the needs of the new baby and provides parents with the knowledge to make informed choices.

Postnatal Classes - these courses are for those with new babies to help parents make the adjustment to being parents and learn more about caring for themselves and their new baby. There are discounted spaces on all our classes for those on low incomes

Emergency First Aid Courses - sessions are run on behalf of the branch by the Royal Life Saving Society. They focus on emergency resuscitation and how to help a choking baby through practicing CPR on life-size baby dummies.

Egroup – join our egroup and receive updates on all our events and activities and be part of our online community – you can ask all sorts of baby and parenting related questions and someone will have the answer! Email webmaster@halsteadnct.co.uk to join

Helplines - The NCT also offers fantastic helplines for pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding (and formula feeding) and postnatal info.

Don’t be stuck at home on your own with your baby - come and make friends with other parents and have fun doing things together!  Here are some activities we have done recently:Walks on Sudbury Meadows and other lovely walking areas, trips to see cows being milked, swimming, open house coffee mornings, nature trails, farm trips to pet the animals, hypnobirthing information evening, Day out with Thomas the Tank Engine, soft play sessions, toddler gym etc

The best thing to do is to join our egroup above and you will receive email reminders for our events

Get in touch and you can be put in touch with a ‘buddy’ who is also a new mum and who will invite you along to events so you don’t have to turn up not knowing anyone!  We all know how scary that can be!
