Join the eGroup!

Have you joined the South Cheshire eGroup?

The eGroup is the fastest way to share information and reach other NCT members in South Cheshire. Email the group, and a message is sent to all subscribers saving you the hassle of finding and typing in a long list of email addresses. There is a shared area where copies of coffee morning lists, meeting minutes, details of events like After 8s, Tea Parties and Nearly New Sales are held.

The general branch admin is also held in a shared area so all members can see what is going on even if they are unable to make the committee meetings. All subscribers can upload and access files. Best of all the eGroup acts as a forum where you can chat with other NCT members in your area.

The eGroup is the main tool for sharing information, and our aim is to get all branch members signed up so we can easily keep you in the loop.

Sign up today by following the easy steps below:

1. Turn on your computer!
2. Go to your internet browser by clicking on the icon.
3. Go to your email and send an email to NCT-SouthCheshire-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
4. A message will appear asking for your Yahoo ID. If you have Yahoo enter your ID here.
5. If not click on the blue text that says Sign Up.
6. Fill in the form that appears. Choose an ID and a password. Keep this password safe as you will need it every time you visit the website or wish to view a file that has been uploaded to the group.
7. As soon as you are signed up it will return to the main Yahoo page.
8. Type in http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NCT-SouthCheshire into the search box.

9. On the left hand side is a list of topics click on GROUPS.
10. It will ask you to find a group.
11. Type NCT_SouthCheshire into the search box and hit return.
12. Once at the NCT_SouthCheshire site you will see a big blue box that says JOIN THIS GROUP. Click on this box.
13. A form appears — fill in the form following the instructions on line.
14. If you would like to join using your existing email click on the blue text that says Add new email. Insert your existing email and click on continue. This means all messages will be sent to your existing email. You must remember your Yahoo ID and password though as you will need these to access files.
15. Write a comment to the moderator, saying who you are and why you would like to join. This allows us to ensure that only NCT members are joining and safeguards the privacy of those using the site.
16. Choose how you would like messages to be delivered (all emails, daily digest, special notes, no emails just web access by clicking next to your choice).
17. Enter the word verification code into the box, following instructions on line.
18. Click on the big blue JOIN button.
19. A membership pending message will appear.
20. Once your membership has been approved you will be asked to write a message to say hello to the other group members and then you are away.
