Antenatal Classes

Our antenatal teachers and breastfeeding counsellors undergo a thorough training with the NCT although they are not required to be medically qualified. All teachers and counsellors are expected to keep up to date with the latest developments in maternity care. Their role is to offer support, information, practical skills and resources to help parents make informed choices for themselves and their babies. They do not offer medical advice and parents are asked to take any questions about the medical care of mother and baby to their midwife, health visitor or doctor.

Please contact us when you are twelve weeks pregnant, or soon after, as classes do tend to book up quickly. However, we will of course try to accommodate late bookers wherever possible. There is a cost for the classes, this is currently £174 for a standard course including your first years membership of the NCT. This can be reduced for those on family incomes of less than £25,000. You do not have to be a member of the NCT to attend one of our courses, though by becoming a member you will help the NCT carry on its work and assist in the training of new teachers

To register for a course, fill in an interest form from a course below or e-mail booking enquiries including your address, phone number and due-date. Our administrator works part time so you may not receive a reply immediately to your enquiry. The account will be monitored periodically for urgent enquiries.

Swansea NCT intensive/short refresher antenatal course (weekend) on 13 December 2008 - course code C97 - suitable for due dates in late December/January/February: Suitable for due dates in late December, January or February. The class will run from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, 13 December 2008.
Swansea NCT intensive antenatal course (weekend) starting 28 February 2009 - course code C93 - suitable for due dates in April 2009: Suitable for due dates in April 2009. The classes will be on : Saturdays 28 Feb and 7 March 2009 from 10am to 4pm on both days, including a two-hour breastfeeding class on 7 March.
Swansea NCT intensive antenatal course (weekend) starting 25 July 2009 - course code C94 - suitable for due dates in late August/September 2009: Suitable for due dates in late August/Sept 2009. The classes will be held on : Saturdays 25 July and 1 August from 10am to 4pm on both days, plus a two-hour breastfeeding class - date, time and venue tbc.
Swansea NCT intensive antenatal course (weekend) starting 8 August 2009 - course code C96 - suitable for due dates in September 2009: Suitable for due dates in September 2009. The classes will be on Saturdays 8 and 15 August 2009 from 10am to 4pm on both days, including a two-hour breastfeeding class on 15 August.
Swansea NCT intensive antenatal course (weekend) starting 21 November 2009 - course code C98 - suitable for due dates in mid to late December 2009: Suitable for due dates in mid to late December 2009. The classes will be on : Saturdays 21 and 28 November 2009 from 10am to 4pm on both days in Swansea, SA3, to include a two-hour breastfeeding class.
Swansea NCT intensive antenatal course (weekend) starting 27 June 2009 - course code C95 - suitable for due dates in August 2009: Suitable for due dates in August 2009. The classes will be on : Saturdays 27 June and 4 July 2009 from 10am to 4pm on both days, in Swansea, including a breastfeeding class on 4 July.
Swansea NCT intensive antenatal course (weekend) starting 10 January 2009 - course code C92 - suitable for due dates in mid to late Feb/March 2009: Suitable for due dates in mid to late Feb/March 2009. The classes will be on : Saturdays 10 and 24 January 2009 from 10am to 4pm on both days, including a two-hour breastfeeding class on 24 January.
