Breastfeeding Support

Every womans breastfeeding experience is unique and any woman who wishes to breastfeed can obtain practical help and ecouragment, should she require it, from our counsellors. Telephone the National Breastfeeding Line between 8am-10pm to be put in touch with one of our counsellors on 0870 4408708 (National Rates Apply).

Experiences Register

Our experiences register is there to enable parents to get lots of support from other parents in similar situations. If you would like to talk to other parents with a particular experience you can contact Catherine Ingham who manages our experiences register and hopefully find someone who has been in a similar situation.

Being a new parent

Becoming a new parent can be daunting which is why our postnatal co-ordinator can put you in touch with other parents. You can then attend a group to meet and talk to other parents socially. Most groups are held in parents own homes. Some groups have specific sessions for pregnant women and those with babies under one. This enables you to feel relaxed without worrying about boisterous toddlers while you are adjusting to life with your new baby. We make a small charge (under £1) at these events which helps to raise funds for NCT training and events. Our Postnatal Groups section will provide you with more information.

Homebirth Support

We are lucky to be able to offer links with the North West homebirth support group who hold monthly meetings in Stockport and the surrounding area. They offer support and advice on achieving a homebirth. Gillian is our homebirth contact. Tel: 0845 330 6339. For more information on home births check out www.homebirth.org.uk
