Run by local parents, we offer support, information and friendship to new parents and parents-to-be. The North and East Northants branch of the NCT covers Rushden, Wellingborough, Kettering and Corby, and the villages in between. We are an active and friendly branch and run antenatal classes, postnatal courses, and organise fundraising events including Nearly New Sales.
If you are pregnant or have young children and would like to get to know other families in the area then get in touch. We also have a branch yahoo group where people can chat and organise their social lives via email, or look at our branch events diary online. Click here for more information.
You can keep in touch with other local parents, ask questions on where to go locally, or who can recommend somewhere to take your little one swimming, etc. All our branch events are there on the calendar too, so you can see exactly what's going on in the branch. You don’t have to be an NCT member to come along to any of our events, or benefit from any of our services, however if you have found the NCT useful please consider becoming a member as it will ensure that the charity can continue to provide these services for parents in the UK.

regularly through the year | Early Days Postnatel CourseGiving birth can be a fabulous experience, and many of you will have attended antenatal classes to prepare you for the big day. However, when the euphoria wears off, and the visitors stop coming, you can often feel like you need a little more support with day to day life with your baby - and that's where Early Days courses come in. They are very informal, and you get to discuss issues that are important to you, with other mums from your local area who have young babies. We talk about feeding, relationships, your postnatal body, routines, crying, sleeping - generally what you thought it would be like and how it has turned out to be! The same mums (and babies) attend each week for 6 weeks, and usually go on to form a supportive group of friends who continue to meet up after the course has finished. At the end of the course, mums who attended say things like: "I enjoyed participating in this group becuase it is nice to hear how we all face the same challenges." "It has been very informative in a relaxed and friendly environment." "It was a really nice way to get to know others, discuss issues which were on my mind already, and hear suggestions/ideas I hadn't considered." "I've opened up, made new friends, and feel more confident."
