The Wimbledon & Wandsworth NCT branch offers support, information and friendship to parents and parents-to-be. Joining our branch gives you access to a wide range of information and opportunities, such as a quarterly magazine, Nearly New Sales (see Events), social events, courses, breastfeeding counsellors and playgroups . See links in the left column for more information.

Are you expecting?

Congratulations! We hope we can provide you with advice and courses which will make your pregnancy go smoothly and at the same time introduce you to other expectant parents.

Events

Meet the team behind the Wimbledon and Wandsworth NCT branch and other expectant parents at a Welcome Evening. A great way to meet couples due around the same time as you and nearby neighbour. Meet us at the next get together on Wednesday 22nd September 2010 over a soft drink!

Nearly New Sales are a great way to pick up pieces at a fraction of the High Street price.Three sales are held each year, the remaining sale for 2010 is: Saturday 13th November. The June sale was a very busy one with a wide range of clothes, toys and bedding at very good prices. Come along to the November sale and see the wide range available and enjoy some refreshments while doing so! Bookings to have a table/rail at the November Nearly New Sale commences in September.

Courses

We have a wide range of antenatal, postnatal and refresher classes available, if you wish to book a course or have more questions please contact Louise.

NEW: Relax, Stretch and Breathe course - yoga based preparation for birth
These 6 week courses encourage gentle yoga exercise and help to prepare you physically for birth by practising positions for labour, breathing techniques and relaxations.

Get Involved

The Wimbledon and Wandsworth NCT branch is solely run by volunteers - busy mums who multi-task amazingly to bring together events and news to new and old time mums.

We are always on the look out for more volunteers. You don't need to take on huge tasks, just whatever time you can commit; helping out at a Nearly New Sale/admin support... See our Get Involved page for more information

Nearly New Sale 2010

Calling all helpers and bakers for the next Nearly New Sales on Saturday 13th November

We are also very excited to announce that we will now be able to offer TWICE the selling space by using the Assembly Hall as well as the Dining Hall.

Bookings for a table/rail for the next Nearly New Sale commence in September.

We always need help with our Nearly New Sales or other fundraising events. If you would like to lend a hand with the planning or running of events, please contact Posey Furnish, our Fundraising & Events Coordinator.

Summer of Fun

With a sizzling summer underway, here at NCT fundraising we have some great activities, challenges and competitions to get involved with this summer. They're cheap to do, fun for the family and will give you the chance to win some fantastic prizes every week.

NCT is looking for mothers who have had a negative experience with maternity leave and returning to work. You'll need to be prepared to speak about your experience in all types of media, including national TV and radio. Those wanting to be involved do not need to have their full name publicised and do not need to mention which organisation they were working for when they returned to work.
