NCT Antenatal Classes
We currently run three types of classes, which are:
- Women’s – these classes are predominantly for women with some partner sessions. They are held during the day. Cost of class is £235.00. For more information or to make a booking email Louise.
- Couples – these classes are predominantly with couples although there are some women only sessions included. The classes are usually held in the evenings with the women only sessions taking place during the day. Occasionally daytime couples classes are also offered. Cost of class is £299.00. For more information or booking For more information or booking email Louise.
- Relax, Stretch and Breathe - yoga based preparation for birth – the courses are run on Wednesday mornings, but from September will include evenings as well. These 6 week courses help to prepare you physically for birth (by practising gentle yoga based exercises, positions for labour and breathing techniques) as well as focusing on finding the time to relax. Cost of a course is £85.
All classes are arranged to take place towards the end of your pregnancy and both Women's and Couple's courses include a breastfeeding session with one of our trained Breastfeeding Counsellors as well as a post-natal reunion. For further information and to book any of the courses please contact Louise.
You will usually be contacted within a few days (but up to two weeks) to confirm receipt and to advise whether we can offer you a place or need to place your name on a waiting list either for a cancellation or to wait for more courses from the tutors. Please be aware that we operate a strictly first come first served policy.
Please note that the cost of classes may increase by the time your class starts. If the prices present a financial problem please contact Louise for details of reduced rates for low income households.
In the meantime, may we suggest that you enroll for the NHS Parent Craft antenatal classes, if available, in the event that we are unable to offer you a place on one of our classes. If you are planning a hospital birth, you may also find it helpful to arrange a visit in order to have a look around the delivery suites and post-natal wards to see what facilities are on offer and meet some of the midwives.
