Volunteers, parents and expectant parents just like you, run our branch. You don’t need to take on huge tasks, just commit whatever time you can or your previous experience and skills. It is a great way to learn new skills, make new friends, and represent the NCT. Get in touch and get involved.

In our branch we really do need more volunteers to help with all sorts of work for the branch. We promise not to ask you for more time than you feel able to give. If there is anything in particular you would like to help with do let us know.

The following specific roles really need support – perhaps you could share a post with a friend?

• Branch Chairperson
  You'd need to oversee the committee members, attend the meetings, help recruit for vacancies, represent our branch to Head Office and be ready to do whatever it is that needs to be done to keep the branch bringing in money for the charity. It is jack of all trades and master of none. Mindy (our temporary chair) will be stepping down in the next few months so would like to fill now. You could co-chair with her for a while to learn the ropes. Email chair@nctwandw.org.uk if you are interested.

• Valley Cushion Agent
  Valley cushions help women to sit comfortably after giving birth, should they find sitting painful.  A valley cushion agent generally has two cushions which she hires out (small amount of paperwork and short explanation) in response to referrals from antenatal teachers and midwives.  A little space is needed for storing the cushions and boxes, and a willingness to supply at fairly short notice - there are usually one to two calls a week. • Nearly New Sale
  Baking Donations - At the three annual Nearly New Sales, the Branch runs a refreshment stand. Any proceeds from donated baked (or bought!) goods go to the Branch treasury. We almost always need volunteers on the day too so if you only have a limited amount of time to donate, consider baking and/or attending on the day. You also get to look at the bargains during setup! • Coffee Mornings/Open Houses
