Winchester NCT - What Our Branch Can Do For You


Postnatal Discussion Group

This course is designed for women with babies under six months and is led by a trained NCT postnatal leader.  The course will enable you to meet other women and share the experiences of early parenthood.  For more information and to book call Jane on 01962 717616 or email bookings4q@nct.org.uk

Support and Friendship from Other Parents


This is one of the most vital and thriving aspects of the NCT’s work.  Many new mothers (and fathers) have no family or friends with children, living locally and have had little contact with babies before having their own.  Thus the companionship of other parents becomes invaluable.

First Timers Group

These are small groups specifically for first time parents whose babies have been born within the same two-month period.  If you would like to join a group contact Jane on 0870 421 4470 or email firsttimers@winchester-nct.org.uk

Birthday Groups

 These are primarily for those expecting their second or subsequent babies.  They offer an opportunity to get together with other parents in a similar situation.  For more information contact Lee on  01962 711620 or email birthdaygroups@winchester-nct.org.uk

Working Mothers’ Group

This is a support group for mothers in paid work.  The group has a monthly meeting or social event.  Contact Carrie on 07956 408121 or email wmg@winchester-nct.org.uk

Experience Register

This is a register of NCT Members willing to talk to other mothers experiencing similar problems, including allergies, postnatal depression, disabilities etc.  For further information contact Anna on  01962 850007 or email experiences@winchester-nct.org.uk

The experiences register needs to be updated regularly in order for it to remain useful and the current register now needs to be reviewed.  So…. Please help us to update our register! If you have been through a challenging or difficult experience and would be happy to share it and to listen and talk to someone who is going through the same thing, please call Anna Goldsmith for more information on 01962 850007.

 

Practical Support

Egnell Pump Hire: We have 3 large, electric breast pumps, like the ones used in special care baby units, available to hire.  Contact Caroline on  01962 866180.

Valley Cushion: We have Valley Cushions available to hire for as long as you need. Please contact Kayt on 07901 653818 or email valleycushion@winchester-nct.org.uk if you require one.

Nappy Library: As you may have seen in our newsletter, we have launched a nappy library to help members test out the wonders of washable nappies.  We now have a selection of donated nappies - different brands and sizes for you to road test and discover that real nappies can fit in with normal life!

Thanks you to all our nappy donors.  Donations of (in particular shaped) nappies such as Tots bots, wraps and accessories still very welcome. If you've just about done with a size and would like to help promote washables then please consider giving us a donation.  We're after variety rather than quantity or pristine quality so even one well-used nappy will be appreciated.
