Mastitis
Mastitis is an inflammation of the breast. It can make the affected breast very tender, hot and sore. The woman may also experience flu-like symptoms and a high temperature. Frequent breastfeeding, with expressing if necessary, helps to clear the mastitis. Doctors may prescribe anti-inflammatory drugs or antibiotics as it is difficult to tell what is causing the mastitis.
