Getting Help
NCT Helplines
Our Info centre covers many aspects of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. If however you are unable to find an answer to your questions, please contact our helplines.
Our helplines are open every day over the Christmas break.
Your questions answered
You can also use keywords to search our list of frequently asked questions or ask our small panel of trained specialist workers who may be able to help you with your pregnancy, birth and babycare questions by getting you the information you need from the right sources.
Please remember, the panel volunteers their time to help the NCT run this service. They will answer your question as soon as possible, but delays can occur. We appreciate your patience in this matter.
Egroups
Need to chat to someone who understands what you are experiencing or who can offer you valuable information based on their own experience? We know it’s not always possible to meet up in person, so we have a range of egroups offering online support so you can exchange information, experiences and thoughts.
Useful links
We've put together a list of useful links to help you access information and services from other organisations that work to support parents and parents-to-be.
The Pregnancy Book 2009
The Pregnancy Book will be given free to expectant mothers and parents in England. The book is extremely popular and a trusted authority on all aspects of maternity. By providing in-depth support, useful contact information and advice on rights and benefits, the book is an excellent addition to the support provided by maternity teams. You can download a copy of the book from the Department of Health website.
Protect your Data
Once you are pregnant, many companies are very keen to have your name on their database. Every time you fill in a card or a form from a company, there is a chance you could end up on someone’s mailing list unless you are careful to opt out using tick boxes to make it clear whether you do or don’t want to receive mailings.
If you want to reduce the amount of unwanted mail or phone calls you get you can do this by signing up for the mailing preference service.
The NCT does not sell your data to other organisations: read our data protection policy.
