Antenatal and postnatal courses

Our specialist workers deliver high quality courses on parenting, which cover pregnancy, birth and early days. Designed to be practical and engaging, these courses help parents to make their own decisions about birth choices, think about parenting issues, and build a support network with other parents.

Our courses can be run both independently or in conjunction with NHS classes and are tailored to meet the needs of the group, including young parents.

Case study: Birmingham Women’s Hospital

During our time at Birmingham Women’s Hospital we have changed the face of antenatal education, freed up midwifery time and provided women with valuable skills to ensure that they approach their labour in a calm and positive way.

Paula Clarke, Consultant Midwife at Birmingham Women’s Hospital, said 'Women now receive consistent high-quality parent education. Communication is good between us as service providers and the teachers - particularly in relaying women’s views and feedback of the services provided, which helps with improving care. This has been significantly enhanced with the NCT teaching group.'
