Train with us

The NCT offers training for both parents and existing health professionals.

For parents

I had been a peer supporter with Sure Start for three years and wanted to take my work further. I was a little daunted by the idea of studying as it was a long time since I’d done anything academic and I didn’t go to university, but once I’d handed in my first essay I was pleased to realise that I could do this and that I enjoyed it. Since I started training, I’ve become really involved in the whole world of breastfeeding in my local area. We don’t have any qualified counsellors in Coventry so I know that we are really needed and I’m a member of lots of different committees for maternity services. I enjoy the role so much that I don’t really find it a problem to balance it as I look forward to what I do.

If you have you ever wondered about taking your experience as a parent and your interest in pregnancy, birth, feeding or postnatal issues further, you may want to consider training with the NCT to become an antenatal teacher, postnatal course facilitator or a breastfeeding counsellor.

Our diplomas in antenatal education, breastfeeding counselling or postnatal group facilitation are officially validated by the University of Luton. This gives you the opportunity to not only help and support other parents but also to achieve a worthwhile recognised academic qualification.

For maternity professionals

We provide courses and workshops for maternity service professionals looking to advance their skills and knowledge on maternity and early parenting issues.
