Are you ready for The Great Swap Up ?

Do you remember the story about the man who traded a paperclip for a house? Can you do any better but with a pen, not with a paperclip? Get together with some friends and take the challenge.

What?

Kyle MacDonald began with one red paper clip on March 28, 2005. By July, 5, 2006 a chain of bartering had ultimately led to trading a movie role for a two-story farmhouse in Saskatchewan, Canada. MacDonald now holds the Guinness World Record for the Most Successful Internet Trade. Can you do any better?!

When?

Trading starts on October 1^st 2008 and runs until October 31^st 2008. In this one month you can trade your pen for whatever you like, as many times as you like until you sell the final item on October 31^st to the highest bidder.

Where?

Wherever! Once you have your pen you can trade with who you like and where you like.

How?

You should now have received your pack with ideas, top tips and an NCT pen. Get together with some friends, formulate your plan and then on October 1^st start trading. Your team have a month to trade up to the best possible item. Sell this item and donate the money you raise to the NCT. The person who raises the most amount of money will receive a fantastic mystery prize!

Challenge other teams, boast about your skills on our forum and make sure your team is the winner.

Why?

To support the NCT in their mission to provide all parents with an experience of pregnancy, birth and early parenting that enriches their lives and gives them confidence in being a parent. Read the stories of families benefiting from the services of the NCT.

By trading up your pen and raising £100 you will enable the NCT to provide over 10 hours of breastfeeding counselling to new mums through our helpline

AND…the person who raises the most money will receive a fantastic prize!

Are you ready for the challenge?

Step By Step….

1) Get together with your friends, work colleagues, football team or scout group to form a team of between 2-20 people.

2) Register by September 26th to receive your team pen and access to our online forum.

3) On October 1^st start trading your pen by swapping it for more expensive or more in demand items. Make sure you brag about your success and check out the competition by posting about your progress on our forum.

4) Continue to upgrade your items throughout October getting everyone in the team involved until you get a great item to sell.

5) On October 31^st sell your final item either through Ebay on a 3 day sale, or for cash/cheque.

6) If you are selling through Ebay you can donate your funds directly to the NCT, if you were paid by cash or cheque then simply mail a cheque to the NCT.

7) Ensure your funds are received by the NCT by November 21^st.

8) The team who raises the most money will win a fantastic prize, and the kudos for beating everyone else!

9) The winning team will be announced on November 25^th.
