Just found out you're having a baby? Have you already got children and would you like a refresher? Are you a young mum or dad-to-be looking for extra support? Here's what to do next.
Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust started a new Preparation for Birth and Beyond service in October.
You are invited to come join one of our small and relaxed groups providing information on pregnancy, birth, and caring for your new baby.
Sessions are completely free and will be held at The Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester; The North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke and The Birth Centre, Andover.
What is the group?
In our Preparation for Birth and Beyond antenatal programme (PBB), we will cover topics such as:
- My/our developing baby
- Changes for me and us
- My/our health and wellbeing
- Giving birth and meeting my/our baby
- Caring for my/our baby
- Who is there for me/us – people and services
You'll have the chance to learn skills to help you cope with labour and caring for your baby. If you attend with your partner, you'll also explore how to work together as a team to co-parent and maintain a strong relationship with one another.
You will also meet others in your area who are expecting a baby when you are. You'll be able to share your feelings and experiences of pregnancy and parenting with one another and get support from people who are learning too.
We offer a two-hour refresher session for mothers expecting their second or subsequent baby and Early Pregnancy sessions.
How to book
To book your PBB or Refresher sessions please email hampshirebookings@nct.org.uk
Please speak to your midwife about Early Pregnancy Sessions.
