A postnatal practitioner in Basingstoke has been honoured with the Practitioner Parent Supporter Award at the national NCT Stars event.

NCT Stars Awards celebrate and honour the efforts of the charity’s volunteers and practitioners who give their time and skills to support mums and dads in their communities.

Fiona Robertson won the award, which is presented to the NCT practitioner who has done the most to make new parents feel welcomed, supported and valued.

Fiona has excelled in creating supportive groups which empower mothers and fathers to be confident parents. She manages to do this while also working as a practitioner, breastfeeding counsellor and postnatal leader.

Presenting the award at City Hall, London, Virginia Campbell, Head of NCT College, said: “The Stars Awards are a great way to thank some of our fabulous practitioners, who play a vital role by providing high quality courses and workshops for new parents. Fiona is someone who has gone the extra mile to support parents with her group work and richly deserves her accolade.”

Fiona Robertson said: “I’m delighted to win this award which recognises the work we’re doing in the local branch to support parents. It’s an honour to win during NCT’s 60th anniversary as it’s a reminder of the parents we’ve supported in the area over the years.”
