An antenatal practitioner in Oxford has been honoured with the Diamond Jubilee Award at the national NCT Stars event.

NCT Stars Awards celebrate and honour the efforts of the charity’s volunteers and practitioners who give their time and skills to support mums and dads in their communities.

Guinevere Webster won the award, which is presented to the practitioner who has given exceptional time and effort at a local level and is given in honour of NCT’s 60th anniversary.

Guinevere has co-ordinated the local Home Birth Support Group, which helps parents make informed decisions about their birthing options. Her work has considerably strengthened links between NCT and local health professionals.

Presenting the award at City Hall, London, Virginia Campbell, Head of NCT College, said: “The Stars Awards are a great way to thank some of our fabulous practitioners, who play a vital role for new parents by providing high quality courses and workshops. Guinevere is someone who has gone the extra mile to support parents with her work in the community and richly deserves her accolade.”

Guinevere Webster said: “I’m delighted to win this award which recognises the work we’re doing in the Oxford branch to support local parents. It’s an honour to win during NCT’s 60th anniversary as it’s a reminder of the parents we’ve supported in the area over the years.”

NCT is the UK’s largest charity for parents. For more information about becoming an NCT practitioner, visit its website or call its enquiries line on 0300 330 0770.
